Description

If you love the taste and health benefits of Kombucha, but wince at the price, you’ll love what you’ll learn in this session.

Participants will go home with a suitable vessel for brewing kombucha – filled with the first ferment , a SCOBY, a reusable tea bag (so that you can use loose tea for your brew) and a clear instruction handbook.

Course takes place in the Refill Mill, Mullingar N91 FH51 on July 30th  from 6-8pm.

Over the course of the evening, you’ll begin your own first ferment. You’ll get acquainted with your very own SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Yeast and Bacteria – the living entity that turns sweet tea into kombucha) and  learn how to keep her alive.

You’ll learn all about adding extra flavour and more fizz with the second ferment. You’ll taste a variety of brewed ‘booch’ so you can decide what you’d like to create later when your first ferment is finished.

You’ll learn what ingredients to use, and what additional equipment you’ll need  – you probably already have most of it in your kitchen. As you would expect with Big Sky Flowers and The Refill Mill, we’ll look at ways to reuse existing equipment and materials, rather than sending you out to spend lots of money.

There will be lots of time to ask questions, and chat to the other participants over kombucha and some complementary nibbles.

Kombucha tastes great but also has a range of health benefits, so this is a great skill to learn and develop further.
